WingtraOne compared to Marlyn
Learn how you can convince your customers how the WingtraOne is superior.
Company: Atmos UAV, Netherlands
UAV: Marlyn
Summary
- Startup from University of Delft
- Growing team, Series A in July 2018, currently ~15 people
- Not many hard facts online, doubting readiness of product
- No tech specs
- No camera specs
- No sample images
- No customer references (except one marketing case)
- Very complex technology, prone to failure, more weight
- Many actuators
- Tilting wing tips
- Detachable wings
- Camera: Sony QX1, 15mm lens. Newly added Sony RX1 and FLIR to the homepage (in doubt that they have it integrated)
- Can not be upgraded with heavier cameras at the same performance. Since the camera is in the tip of the UAV it would change center of gravity. So either they have to modify the hardware and add more weight in the back or redesign the UAV.
- 15mm lens captures the propeller in the images, which they actually can’t change due to design aspects. This was confirmed by Sander (CEO).
- Conclusion: not considered as real threat
