Remove WID from the distributor stock

Wingtra has introduced WID in the past when WingtraOne had higher reliability issues. As reliability got improved + with the introduction of GEN II, Wingtra does not see the need to have WID products in the reseller stock.

At the moment 7 of the resellers have a WID wing including telemetry (excluding pilot box) + some of the following WID payloads (RX1+ mount, QX1 + mount and PPK module).

Strategy

Keep the remaining units + the payload until they are used (GEN I warranty cases) and inform the resellers during the periodic call updates.
 

Communication with the resellers and why does it matter

Reasons why we need to remove from the WID strategy:
  • WID units were introduced some time ago due to reliability issues but with the latest updates, short delivery times and new GENII our reliability has improved.
  • WID stock tends to be older, meaning customers may be getting an older version of the drone as a replacement. 
  • Overhead between Dealer and Wingtra in figuring out what the WID situation and stock levels are is immense.
  • By suggesting a minimum stocking policy, resellers could hold stock and continuously update their inventory. In case Wingtra product has been sold or replaced under warranty, Wingtra will replenish the product. 
  • More and more resellers are having their own Wingtra stock and we expect all our resellers to take the responsibility of having their own stock. Minimum stocking policy suggestions can be seen in the recommended policy CU task (always to discuss the minimum suggested list with the Sales Manager
  • In case there is an issue with the wing, a ticket will be sent to the support, following a standard procedure. If Wingtra determines a warranty replacement is necessary, the reseller will be able to use the retail unit/ parts from their stock and Wingtra would ship the warranty replacement as soon as possible. 
 

Communication w/ RDO 


  • RDO benefits the most from using a WID wing only. On average they have been releasing 1 WID wing per month. However, RDO has a special setup with rental units, that they can use to support customers.
  • In case a retail unit is not available potential setup is a rental unit to give to the customer when/ if needed. During this phase, Wingtra will ship a warranty case unit within a short delivery time.
