You can sell drones without a pilot box or payloads either as spare backup units or as a replacement part. The pricing for such a wing is time-dependent, unless its a warranty case.
Price for a spare wing
A spare wing costs USD 16'000 and is sold at a 12 percent distributor discount (note: Leo/Basil to discuss discount). It is more expensive than a replacement wing during the first year. Basically you have to be willing to pay for the "being able to replace immediately / always in the air" guarantee.
Price model for replacement wings
This model is applicable for replacements that are not covered under warranty.
To calculate the price for a wing replacement, you need the purchase date (e.g., invoice date when the end-customer bought from the reseller) and the incident date.
The pricing is time-dependent. If a customer damages his wing in the first month after purchase, he only pays 6'900 USD, if he damages it more than 12 months after purchase, he pays 16'000 USD. In between there is a linear increase. The green line in the plot below illustrates the price dependency. The other colors are initial thought regarding better conditions if people purchase a yet to be defined paid support package.
How to calculate price / How to invoice wing replacement?
Please use the calculator in this sheet to calculate the discounts and final price for a wing replacement. BE CAREFUL THE FORMULAS ARE CURRENTLY BROKEN!
Use the template called "Wing Replacement Invoice" under the reseller documents in pandadoc for your invoice. Note that the total "discount for the end-customer" depends on whatever unit they had initially purchased.
Modify the template with the values of the case at hand. The example below shows a drone that needed to be replaced only after 2 months. Therefore it gets 12 months - 2 months = 10 months worth of discounts.
If a customer is not happy with the replacement offering, do not offer any discounts. But include Andrea or Antonio, they will introduce the customer to the new replacement pricing.
