Spare parts stock at distributors

This article describes the purpose of spare parts at distributors and provides recommended quantities of spare parts.

The following table indicates the recommended amount of stock items at resellers. The number is based on an analysis of previous replacements and its frequency.

Why do end customer require immediate spare parts?

Despite the high quality of the WingtraOne components, each part has a limited lifetime and needs to be replaced eventually. In most cases items break or stop working, once they are being used in an ongoing project. In such situations, the end customer requests immediate replacement of the damaged parts to continue the project. Downtime or missing project deadlines can lead to loss of money and reputation.

Why does it make sense for distributors to have stock spare parts?

Having spare parts at the local distributor enables easier access to replacement parts for end customers. Faster shipments of replacement parts reduces downtime at the end customer and therefore increases customer satisfaction.

Furthermore, bulk ordering of spare parts reduces the shipment costs significantly and increases the margin of each part when they are sold to end customers.

How to ensure the stock is being filled up regularly?

All damages need to be reported to the Wingtra Support team. The replacement shipments are recorded and will be shipped to you with the next planned order or upon availability. The spare parts stock should be checked prior to each order and the missing items should be added to the order.

Who pays for spare and replacement parts?

The initial stock of spare parts at reseller are purchased by the reseller with the default distributor margin. The spare parts can be sold to end customers at any time.

If an item is used as replacement for an end customer, the warranty assessment by Wingtra decides if the costs are covered by Wingtra or not. In case of a technical failure covered under warranty, the items will be replaced for free. If an item reached end of life due to normal wear and tear or got damaged due to a user fault, the replacement needs to be paid for by the end user.
