Known issue: QX1 connectivity

Here a summary of known limitations regarding QX1 camera on v2 planes.

Warning: Camera can not be detected, please contact support!

This warning appears if the settings file (CameraCache.json) that is saved on the drone does not correspond to the expected default settings. This behavior results if the QX1 settings are not set to default once the drone is powered.

QX1 settings failure cases

  • Turning off WingtraOne, if exposure mode is not on default.
  • Turning on WingtraOne if the aperture on the 15mm lens is not on 4.5 (needs to be adjusted on the lens itself).

Workarounds

  • Users should not change exposure mode and should always use manual mode.
  • QX1 15mm should be set to 4.5 aperture, to successfully initialize the camera. It can be changed before the flight.
  • Shutter speed, ISO and white balance can be changed without problems.

Solution

  • First, check if the aperture is set to 4.5 on the lens (only for 15mm), otherwise adjust it manually.
  • Copy the recovery_wingtra.sh file to the camera SD card, insert the SD card into the dongle and power up WingtraOne. Wait a few minutes, the script will run automatically and sets the camera settings to default. The file can be shared with the customer using this link.
