Replacing the Lower Camera Cover
In this article, we go over the steps in replacing the lower camera cover of your mount in case of damage.
The payload mount is composed of three parts: the connectors and electronics that allow the camera to interface with the drone, the foam housing that nestles the camera, and the lower camera cover. The lower camera cover refers to the orange plastic exterior that helps protect the payload. In most cases, when a mishap occurs in the field or during handling, it is this part of the mount that is damaged. Here, we go through the process of removing the lower camera cover and attaching a replacement.

Take note of the orientation of the lower camera cover before you remove it. The table below shows each of the sensors and how their covers are oriented.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Removing the Damaged Lower Camera Cover
The lower camera cover is attached to the foam housing using locks that also serve as dampers that stabilize the camera during flight. The first step of the process entails removing these locks and then detaching the lower camera cover.
Step 2: Attaching the Replacement Lower Camera Cover
Now that the foam housing of the mount is free, you can attach the replacement lower camera cover.
