Pricing policy for replacements for direct customers

If a customer does not feel comfortable to perform a replacement, they can purchase that as a service from Wingtra.

This pricing scheme applies only to direct customers of Wingtra. All customers who have purchased the WingtraOne from a distributor, they should be directed to the distributor. The distributor might offer the replacement as a free or paid service, based on the location. 

What replacements do we offer as a paid service?

The replacement of parts, such as the drivetrains or servos (in the future), can be considered advanced by the customer. In such cases, we accept to perform the replacement for the customer.

In the rare case, the customer requests us to perform other replacement tasks, such as wing replacement or PPK installation, we should explain to them that these are routine maintenance and operation tasks that all the customers should be capable of performing. Additionally, this reduces a lot the downtime and costs for them.

Wingtra's warranty only covers replacement parts, but does not cover labor to install parts. Therefore the installation of replacement parts is a paid service even in warranty cases.

How to calculate the price for the replacement?

To estimate the cost of the replacement, we apply an hourly rate of 150 USD. You need to estimate the time that this task will take us, including also the communication and packaging overhead. Then, multiply the hours with the hourly rate. 

The customer should also cover all the shipping costs, even in the warranty cases. You can calculate the shipping costs as it is explained in the article. Do not forget to add this cost to the invoice.

For example, if we need to replace the drivetrains for a customer, this would take us about 1h for the communication of the details and 30 minutes for the actual replacement. That means they should pay 225 USD for the actual work and the shipping costs.
